What is this page?

This page is a quiet addendum to the journal. The articles on the home page explain formats, crops, light, and privacy. The helpers below exist only if you want to try one of those ideas on a file of your own.

Nothing here requires an account. Several helpers run entirely in the browser. The rest process a file only to return a result. Originals on your device are not overwritten.

If you arrived here first, start with the articles instead. A helper without the context is just a button.

Common things people do here

  • Shrink screenshots and photos so they upload to email, school portals and chat apps
  • Convert HEIC iPhone photos to JPG when a Windows PC or web form rejects the original
  • Crop 9:16 story frames and square feed posts before uploading to Instagram or TikTok
  • Remove product backgrounds for cleaner marketplace and portfolio images
  • Blur plates, faces and private details before sharing a photo publicly
  • Mark up a screenshot with arrows and notes for support, homework or a how-to

Frequently asked questions

Is ImageUtils really free?
Yes. All tools on this site are free to use. The site may show ads on content pages, such as the blog and guides, to cover hosting costs. Ads are not placed on the tool upload or processing screens.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Upload the image, process it, download the result. Nothing else is required.
What happens to the images I upload?
Images are processed only to complete your request and are never published anywhere. Several tools (including upscale, effects, collage, paint, censor and vectorize) run entirely in your browser, so those images never leave your device.
Which formats are supported?
JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC/HEIF as input. You can export JPG, PNG, WebP and, in the vectorize tool, SVG.
Is there a file size limit?
Uploads are limited to 25 MB per image, which comfortably covers photos from modern phones and cameras.
Will compression make my image look worse?
The compressor aims for the smallest file that still looks the same on screen. Compare the result with the original at 100% zoom, for graphics with text and sharp edges, PNG usually holds up best.
Where can I learn which tool to use?
Open the Guide for a walkthrough of every tool, or the Blog for deeper articles on formats, cropping, privacy and everyday edits. Both are linked in the top navigation.
Who makes ImageUtils?
ImageUtils is developed and maintained by VKL Apps. You can read more on the About page or email contact@vklapps.com.
